Tower Bridge is a Grade I Listed structure and one of London’s most recognisable landmarks. It is a bascule and suspension bridge built between 1886 and 1894, designed by Horace Jones and engineered by John Wolfe Barry. The bridge is owned and maintained by the City Bridge Foundation.

Leadenhall have been engaged by the City of London Corporation since 2020 to provide project management and employer’s agent services for a number of major infrastructure renewal projects for Tower Bridge. Projects have included significant electrical upgrade works along with the install of fire sprinkler and gas suppression systems to safeguard this historic landmark. With over 800 bridge lifts annually, Tower Bridge serves as both a functional crossing for pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles and a popular museum attraction, drawing thousands of visitors each year. Leadenhall have worked closely with the City of London Corporation and the City Bridge Foundation to ensure that the projects are delivered smoothly and without disruption to the operation of the bridge.
